I was with 3 others and it was pretty decent. It's always hard to choose a restaurant while you're in Chinatown.

I really enjoyed that each table is given a complimentary bone marrow type soup to start. We ordered (4) dishes: snow pea leaf, salt and pepper ribs, chilled chicken dish (sorry forgot the name) and black pepper sizzling beef. I think our table had their own personal preference. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken and snow peas in that order. The squid I didn't really care for. It was incredibly chewy and lacked in flavor compared to the other dishes.

The average price per dish was around $8. So really affordable! We'll be back sometime in the near future.

Couple tips: It does help if someone in your party speaks Mandarin or Cantonese (just to ease the ordering process but the servers are super nice and efficient) and noticed it was BYOB.

Very friendly service-they work in teams-and a very friendly clientele. This is obviously a beloved restaurant and they clearly have a lot of regulars and fans. We came on a Saturday night and they were very busy-lots of large groups and families.

Unfortunately-our food wasn't very good. We appreciated the complimentary pork soup. It was a little too hardcore for me- lots of tendons and unrecognizable meat-like pieces, however, the broth was extremely rich and flavorful-tasted silky and oily. Husband ordered the short rib and eggplant clay pot. Eggplant was cooked well, and the short ribs tasted off (more on that later...). I was in the mood for a classic so I ordered General Tso's chicken. The chicken was pretty fatty and seemed to be low quality. The sauce was way too thick-it was drenched-and not very spicy. Husband enjoyed the chicken-I wasn't a fan. Portions were large so we had a lot to take home. When I went to reheat the beef just a day later, I noticed it had turned green on the bottom of the container-super gross. So I'm guessing the beef wasn't very fresh and that's probably why it tasted off. We didn't get sick or anything-it just clearly wasn't very fresh. While I normally like to give a popular place a second chance-I won't be able to do so-just too grossed out by the lack of freshness and quality of the food.

Meh. The inside smelled like cigarettes and it just felt very dingy.

We got a slew of dishes for 6 people and nothing truly stood out. They do not sell alcohol here but do allow BYOB if that's down your alley.

Don't get mistaken by the name- this is an authentic Cantonese restaurant.. you won'd find any XLB here.

We ordered a bunch of items family style and everything was really tasty.

This place is solid and authentic Chinese food, been coming here since I was a young one well- ever since they had a smaller location called Marco Polo of which they then moved their location now

Crispy noodles with beef and gailan
    Clams with black bean sauce
    Fried stuffed tofu
    Lobster ginger and scallion
    Steamed fish
    Fried pork ribs
    Squid scallops and shrimp
    Ong choy

Just to name a few dishes I ate growing up in houston on special occasions. They also have special rooms where you can reserve for big parties but a minimum charge of 250.

The service is typically china town service but it's family owned by hard working people.this is not a sugar coated place with bad taste, this is straight forward ordering with straight forward ppl that have been doing this for years.

This place brings almost all Chinese clients, it's authentic, and I haven't had an issue with any cleanliness, all those speak loudly, all their dishes I have listed above are very tasty
The taste is Chinese, the clients are Chinese, the staff is Chinese, the food is chines- what more can you ask for
